A Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) is a dedicated savings plan to help save for a child’s post secondary education. Income and growth inside of an RESP grows tax free, and the federal government will provide a direct grant of 20% of the first $2500 of annual contributions made in a year, with enhanced rates of $500 of contributions of lower and middle income families.
